Welcome back to Canada
We flew to Calgary from Mexico City and Phoenix, Arizona arriving after midnight. The customs officer asked Alannah where she had been and then patiently listened to her list off each and every country we had visited (USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Italy, France, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, and the USA again).
He smiled and then said “Welcome back to Canada”. We were then welcomed by Janice’s sister Val and her husband Jim who thrust two large Canadian flags into our hands and then took the required photo of us returning to Canada - that country “up north”.
